Function
- Procurement of suitable machines and mechanical equipment, which is required by the Department from time to time.
- Improvement and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery of the Department, especially tractors, vehicles and pumps (including fixed and portable pumps).
- Fabrication and/or collection, commissioning, testing and repair of all Watergates and their components under the Irrigation and Drainage Department scheme.
- Design, commissioning, testing and repair of all pumps and pump components in the Irrigation and Drainage Department scheme.
- Design, commissioning, testing and after care for all mechanical devices used by the Department Manages all selected mechanical and civil engineering items.
- Training program and skill improvement of the Department's staff in managing and maintaining the Department's mechanical equipment.
- Conduct research and development with the aim of improving and modernizing the Department's mechanical engineering inputs to maintain effectiveness in meeting the Department's needs.
