MAIN FUNCTIONS OF JPS NEGERI TERENGGANU ::

AGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE

Develop, operate and maintain irrigation, drainage and flood mitigation facilities as well as carry out river conservation work to support the development and progress of the agricultural sector, particularly for the benefit of the farmers and small farmers sector.

DRAINAGE AND FLOOD MITIGATION

Study, plan and implement flood mitigation works in urban areas to reduce the occurrence of floods in the state to ensure the well-being of residents and reduce property damage.

RIVER ENGINEERING

Studying, planning and implementing programs for the preservation and conservation of rivers in the State of Terengganu for rural and urban residents by protecting lives, property and agricultural areas and providing recreational facilities along the river corridor.

COASTAL ENGINEERING

Collecting data on coastal engineering to detect erosion and for the use of various government departments and agencies in the planning and design of specific projects and for research purposes. Carry out works to control and prevent coastal erosion.

HYDROLOGY AND WATER RESOURCES

Collecting hydrological data throughout the state to meet the development and management needs of water resources handled by various government departments and agencies.

ADVISORY AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Giving comments on housing development applications, changing land use conditions, removing hill land and other matters involved with the Water Enactment. Carrying out civil engineering / building works for other agencies under the Ministry.
